So long... and thanks for all the fish!

Shannon's gone, and with her, my meal ticket :)

J/k... she did buy me a couple of meals that I'm too poor (*sob*) to afford on my own, which was nice. I consider it fair payment for the bed ;)

Overall it was a nice time... I think everyone had fun. The beach was beee-yooo-ti-full. Always hard to come back to a hot urban environment after laying under a palm tree for a few days. The kids did well; neither of them got sick, which is always a plus. They even made some new international friends.

Now it's back to the normal routine... well, not exactly. I'm going to have to curtail my beer swilling activities, sally forth and read a few good books instead, and all in all stop spending money. I've got more than enough to get by, but now that the end is in site and my bank account is running low, I have to be more careful to make sure that I can pay everyone that wants to be paid. Hopefully by September I'll have a little more ching coming.

I have a new office mate. Vicky is from Washington State and is here for 2 to 4 months. She has something like 5 advanced degrees and can speak 3 languages. Me, I can make mouth noises! I am learning a bit of Thai, but it's slow going.

Picked up the Potter book... pretty good so far, but I've only just begun. Seems more adult; lots of people dying and all. So who dies at the end? Don't tell me, but I've a feeling its Dumbledore. Got a bad hand and all, and his death would force Harry into a leadership role in the final book. Please, no one confirm or deny that, don't spoil it!

OK that's all for now.

Thupt!

I just showed parts of your blog to an old friend from Winnsboro - J.T. (now J.L.). Anyway, she was very impressed by your writing and we've decided that you should write a book about growing up in Winnsboro - using that dry sense of humor of yours. She said your writing style reminds her a favorite author of hers - that she can't remember write now after 3 glasses of wine - but he's from North Carolina, now lives in Paris, and make major bucks writing humorously about his childhood. :)

for PC and JL in the comment above, that author would be David Sedaris - possibly the funniest human being alive.
